The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of the Foreign Wars of the United States are still searching for donations while preparing for their Annual Turkey Shoot benefit. This year it will be held on September 12th at the James L. Burge Post 3804, located on Ridge Road behind Wal-Mart. The day will begin with lunch plates being served at 11 am. The theme for the 2009-2010 Voice of Democracy is "Does America Still Have Heroes?" The theme for the 2009-2010 Patriot's Pen is "When is the Right Time to Honor Our Military Heroes?" All in all, would say it was a succesful day. There was a bit of miscommunication that made a few things difficult today and the ponies didn't make it. Adults and children alike were very disappointed. We all look forward to seeing them. Attendance had dropped for the first time in years, but we chalked that up to the Egg Drop at the airport being rescheduled for the same day as our Hunt.
